Soccer Australia (FA) is investigating a possible data breach that may have exposed personal information of players, ticket buyers and other stakeholders. The possible data breach was reported by cybersecurity publications claiming that Football Australia opened 127 “digital storage containers” for public access. Unencrypted files in one of the containers reportedly contained players’ passports and contracts, while other containers contained sensitive information about ticket buyers.

The EFL has fixed the security issue after being alerted to the breach, according to the report. The EFL said it is taking the matter “very seriously” and is conducting a thorough investigation to determine the severity of the breach and identify any individuals who may have been affected.

This incident highlights the importance of data security for organizations, particularly those that handle sensitive information, and the FA has committed to taking steps to strengthen its cybersecurity measures to prevent similar breaches in the future.

In the meantime, individuals who believe that their personal information may have been compromised are advised to monitor their accounts for any suspicious activity and report any concerns directly to the FA.
